About
Hi everyone, My name is Edmund Umbao. A former tubagatherer from Bantayan, Cebu, Phils; now an OFW join me on my journey towards promoting the achievements of our fellow Filipinos.
I have been working as an OFW since 2005 until now earning a decent living away from home to sustain my family. As an OFW I am so proud of being a Filipino, the high regards given to a Filipino workers compared to our counterparts in whatever fields we are working with, is such an achievement for me. Even an ordinary worker like me could be proud of my heritage, thanks for the legacy that have been left by the previous OFW’s now we are enjoying the benefits of it. We Filipinos are really hardworking, knowledgeable, and always on top because of our high literacy rate.
The main purpose of this blog is to add more flavor to the already rich heritage that we enjoy right now. One of my favorite subjects during my school days is Social Studies and History. In view of this I came up with an idea of putting a blog wherein I can showcase the different achievements of my fellow Filipinos.
Enjoy reading and more power, if you have some suggestions just feel free to contact me, or e-mail me personally. My e-mail is islabantayan@gmail.com.
GOD BLESS US ALL….

ABOUT BENCH
Beginning in 1987 with a small store selling men’s t-shirts, Bench grew at an unparalleled rate by being the pioneer in the use of celebrity endorsers, television and giant billboards to propel a fashion brand that offers premium quality products at affordable prices.
To date, Bench has grown to include a ladies’ line, underwear, fragrances, housewares, snacks, and a wide array of other lifestyle products, with the distinction of being present in virtually every retail space in the Philippines, and with a worldwide network of stores and outlets, reaching as far as the United States, the Middle East, and China.
As it sliced through demographic divisions — age, gender, socioeconomic status — a stirring slogan, “Bench is forever”, became the company’s abiding creed.

Hi Edmund,
Thanks for this blog I just read today. Will you please connect me to Mr. Celiz? I am a Filipino so proud of my country and my people. I have been looking for Filipino inventions which can be marketed first in the Philippines and hopefully in the world. I am also very proud of you for putting up this kind of blog honoring the good things Filipinos do. May God bless you in all your endeavors.
Sincerely yours,
